THERE IS STILL NO CURE FOR STAGE 4 BREAST CANCER, THE PINK RIBBONS DO NOT SAVE LIVES, RESEARCH DOES!
No words for our
- Fundraiser Halloween Special Zoom Party 31st of October 2020 -
because there are no words to describe what took place.
From the first song to the very last, the energy and outpouring
of genuine love, happiness & emotional connection was everything.
To continue supporting this ongoing battle you can always donate to further the research process.
MY NAME IS MINNIE.... I'm a Soca and Carnival lover from Germany.
I was diagnosed with metastatic / stage 4 breast cancer in 06/2019, meaning that cancer cells had already traveled to other parts of my body upon diagnosis, making it treatable for a limited time frame but not curable.
I have been blessed to have a great circle of friends, many of whom I met at a carnival.
Yes, Soca is life and Carnival my happy place.
In order to be able to attend more carnivals and create memories, not just I but all the other women and men need a cure. Instead of getting frustrated with the lack of research and the “pink business”,
I decided to raise funds to benefit clinical research.
Naturally my first idea was to organize a Soca fundraiser and was beyond happy, when DJ D-One and
Soaked in Soca instantly agreed to host the event and support the great cause
Each year 70.000 women and 600 men get diagnosed with breast cancer (BC) in Germany alone,
worldwide over 2 million people.
Despite awareness, early detection, chemo-/radiotherapy and surgery 30% of the cases progress to stage 4, meaning the cancer spreads to other vital organs of the body.
That is why research plays an essential role in finding a cure for stage 4 breast cancer and saving lives.
As each year about 18.000 women and men die of BC in Germany,
the aim of The National Centre for Tumor Diseases (NCT) Heidelberg is to find promising and effective
therapy options by investing in innovative research projects.
